Board Of Directors / Management
PETER ISDALE, AM, BA (Hons), PhD, MAICD
Dr
Isdale was appointed Chief Executive Officer of IMBcom Pty Ltd in 2003. He
is a member of the board of the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, a
director of ElaCor Pty Ltd, Nephrogenix Pty Ltd, Kalthera Pty Ltd, Chairman
of the Wetlands and Grasslands Foundation, non-executive Director of the
Great Barrier Reef Research Foundation. He is an Adjunct professor at Texas A&M
University and is a Senior Fellow
of the Chaiyong Limthongkul Foundation (Thailand). Dr Isdale spent 15
years as a marine scientist before being appointed Business Director and
senior executive at the Australian Institute of Marine Science. He has had
20 years of directorship on Boards of private, public and ASX-listed
companies in Australia,
Asia and the Pacific Rim. Peter was
awarded as a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia
in 2006 for service to marine science through research and as a contributor
to the development and commercialisation of biotechnology.
DAVID LYSTER
David is responsible for the co-ordination and business development
activities in the Victorian College of Pharmacy at Monash University.
David brings more than 10 years experience in the commercialisation of
early stage, high-risk intellectual property to the board of Nephrogenix.
David is actively involved in the Biotech field and has a private
technology consulting business providing services to other Australian
universities and the private sector. David is a director of two other
companies involved in the commercialisation of early stage technologies.
MELISSA LITTLE
Professor Little is a founding scientist and director of Nephrogenix with
extensive scientific expertise in the area of cancer genetics and kidney
development. With publications in prestigious journals such as Science,
Nature Genetics and Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (USA) and a
number of patents, her work in understanding kidney development and kidney
disease processes will eventually result in new treatments for renal
disease through its commercialisation by Nephrogenix. Melissa’s
professional history is littered with fellowships, including a Royal
Society Endeavour Fellowship, AMRAD Postdoctoral Award and R. Douglas
Wright Postdoctoral Fellowship and more recently the Gottschalk Medal.
Melissa has been strongly involved in the development of medical research
in Australia
through her membership on the Health and Medical Research Strategic (Wills)
Review and the Implementation Committee of that review. She has served on
the NHMRC Training Awards Committee and as a member of the Consultative
Panel created to guide the process of National Priority Setting. She has
been instrumental in the initiation of Nephrogenix and has been the primary
driver of this process. She will bring a wealth of scientific and research
management experience to the Board of Nephrogenix.
MICHAEL LUSIS, Executive Officer and Company Secretary
Michael has completed B.LLB, B.Com (hons) and B.Sc (hons) degrees from the University of Queensland and is currently
completing a PhD at the IMB. Previously, as an executive director of
investment bank UBS, Michael gained extensive experience in advising
companies on strategy, partnering, mergers and acquisitions and capital
raising. Other commercial experience includes working as a management
consultant with LEK Partnership and as a consultant with IMBcom.
